Mr Andrew Swartz
Dear Uncle, as it is geting late and we have not had supper, while Will is geting it, I thought that I would write you a few lines to let you know that, Will just recd your letter, and also to let you know that we are well, and in good health, at this pressent time. we have got marching orders, we will leave in the morning, at eight O'clock, whear we will go I do not now, but somwhear in va, I think. som says we will go to Fredericksburg we have been very bissy working at are houts, for the last few weeks and have got / them so thay are warm. it seams a little hard to leave them. Co D. has just recd a barel of sourcrout and we have just recd a fine mess of it. the snow is not all going hear yet. I wrote a letter home on the eight, and told all the newes that I know if you see farther tell him that we leave hear to morrow, and tell him to write soon. I will not write much this time for I want to get a good sleep, for I do not think that I will get much on the march. give my Respects to all,

Dear Father beans henry was a writing I thought that I would write a few words for I received a letter from you this evening with 20 cts in it and a postage stamp I was very glad to hear from you I was very glad of that money for I was entirely run out I sent a letter home on the 8th and told you to send me some postage stamps and some money you may send it on the same as you did before and it will follow us we received marching orders this morning and will leave to morrow morning at 8 Oclock I was sory that you did not get out here to see us in our fine loghouses but I hope we will get others some where again so that you can have a chance to come and see us yet if I do not get a chance to write on the march you must / not stop writing for I will write as often as I can and so you must write often too
so it is a getting late and I must bring my letter to a close
give my love to grandpap and grand mother and all the rest of my friends so good buy all
