Camp Buckinham Sept 10th 1862
 
Dear Father                                        
I wrote a few lines to you yesterday by Mr Abiel Geer he has $80 dollars eighty dollars but some of the boys think that it is to much to trust him with do let me know I left $20 dollars at home altogether will make one hundred dollars you may put in some safe bank as soon as you get it but do find out which bank is the best we leave in the morning (thursday) at Seven AM with three days rations we probaly will go to Washington Ed is well and so are all the boys from Cromwell the news is worse this morning but what do I dont care I was on guard last night we had lively times I arrested one Captain and two privates tell Cromwell folks not to worry about us we are all well Cousin Minnie has not been down yet I hope she will to day Love to all
