...there does not seem to be any news I recd a letter from Penfield he was well so were the boys I was out on the avenue yesterday saw quite a number of Jersey boys also met a gentleman and his daughter that were from Hartford the man knew me when I was at Agards he invited me to go to his house to tea I done so and had a verry good meal but I came near paying dear for it as I did not return untill evening my pass had run out and the patrol came on me before I knew it and would have taken me to the central guard house but I ran away from them Surgeon Kanter says I can have a pass from the Provost Marshall good for a month I cant tell when I shall leave here my health is about the same keep the likenesses that I send home for I shall think a good / deal of them Remember me to all and I will draw to a close
