Dear Brother
your very welcome letter came in yesterdays and I should have answerd then but I had two besides one to Mother to answer but one mail is one day difference but you can get it by tuesday my health has not been as good as I could wish since I got back but hope to get better I got pretty tired when I went home but I am verry glad to hear that you still hear from Fs and do for him for I know how to pity the money you sent me at that time was verry welcome I hope the time may come when we may all meet under the paternal roof of our aged Parents it seemd verry lonesome there Mother all alone and if Father goes to church or is gone what / she do if a stragler should come and offer violence but I hope such will not be the case I dont want any more furloughs for it is so hard to leave home the Army has not moved yet and may not under a week I recd your picture I have had a doz taken but they are all gone I will send my likeness to you in place of them it is verry pleasant to day and I suppose that you are at church where I should like to go but a soldier dont need to attend seems to be the motto at this hospital I got a paper from you the same time I got your letter I stopped in Newark saw Tim Baum also the Gillmores they enquired after you also see Kate Charles Kate Manderscheid Mr Tulens and in fact all that we use to / know and more too there are two pretty sick boys in our ward they are slight hopes of their recovery I have promised to write to so many that it keeps me all the time writing hoping to hear from you soon I will close
