I have got my state check for the eighth and ninth paymt which Capt Billings gave me you can collect pay on it which is $20 insted of ten you can state the case to Col [scratched out] or whoever pays it
we have just recd news of the fall of Richmond the troops are beside themselves cheering at the rate of 240 I recd a letter from / Loomis to day but have not recd one from home I hope you will write soon we expect to march the 12th of this month
