Dear Parents
your welcome letter I have just recd and I hasten to answer it hoping it will find you in as good health as it leaves me in the camp is again thrown into great excitement by the capture of a train just above us and capture of some of our boys robbing them of money tobaco and even likenesses boots over coats and so on they are in the vicinity of Tracy City again we are on the lookout for them here two of them bit the dust I wish you would send the likeness on plate of the young lady I sent last the fleshy one and when I send any more dont have them where Tom Dick and Harry can see / them. I recd a letter from L to day he is well I cannot answer it in time for this mail the boys are all well I am verry much obliged for the stamps no more about the expidition the boys are all well hoping to hear soon I Remain your Affectionate Son
