Dear Parents
                        Lieut Cadwell came sabbath day said he was going home on a ten days furlough commencing last saturday if any of the Cromwell folks want to see they can by going to portland he said Jerry was tough as a knot thought the boys from the 20th looked rather thin in Campbell he never see [paper hole] he was with Capt Pardee of Company F I still remain about the same but hope some time to get well when I see Lieut Cadwell it almost like seeing some blood relation he looks rough but likes his Company and we like him how I wish I could go back to the reg with him but my hand trembles so I cant write any more /
A young man has just got his discharge and leaves for Pittsburg to I sent a few lines by him to Frank
