John W. Clement to Unknown, 10 June 186X
Tear this off—   [drawing of pointing hand]
June 10th
Horace Hall is driving a team for the Quarter Master. He is mad about his box not coming
I hope you will see Dudley before he starts to come back.
Father is about right about those furloughs
it would take 20 months at 5 pr ct a month
but there is some talk of sending home
a squad once in 10 days after the first squad
gets home, but we don't know whether we will
get any more furloughs or not. /

We either had to take Capt Wilbur with
us or leave a guard with him, if we left
him at the Head.
If I got a furlough I should not know
of it soon enough to give any notice of
it to you, in season for you to get it, as I
should get home in the next steamer that
went after the furlough was given
