This morning it was vary cloudy but the sun came out in the midle of the fournoon and was pleasant the rest of the day but last night it rained amost all the time and our new house leaked vary bad and all of us got wet and had a grate time in the dark.

It was pleasant this morning and the sun was out but was coald in the morning but befour noon it was warm. I went over to town this afternoon and maid a ring. night befour last the rain spoilt my old [?] and I hadto get a new one went over to town this evening and bought this one and gave seventy five cents for it.

It has bin a vary pleasant and warm. this morning we went and got some brick and maid a fire place. in the afternoon I went to get some cloas but could not get them and while over thir saw Theadore Ellice and he is goin home the first of the week. and I wroat a letter this evening for him to take home and give to Father. went over to Randolph Hopkins but he had went a way with his broather

It has bin a vary pleasant day and warm. this morning too of the boys from Republic came a long and wanted me to go
over to the ninth ohio cav and I went and saw Charles Cuningham and the rest of the boys from town. and then went over to the hundred and first ohio and saw henry miller and the rest of the boys in that rigement from town. toock a horse out of the correll and went a horse back. This evening I wroat a fue lines home.

It has bin a vary pleasant day and warm for the time of year. This morning too of us went oveto town and got six days racions for six of us and when we got back one of the boys told me thir was a letter over in the office and I went over and got it.
it was from Father and they ar all well. I don a washin this afternoon. did not see eny more of the boys that I knew.
November the 1/64
It has bin a pleasant day but reather coald. this morning Rush Boldin came along and thacher was with him. we went over to the ninth and staid all night.

It has bin a rainy day and rained all last night this morning we came over to town and I got a new pair of boots, and packed up my things to go to the rigement but did not get started this evening

It has rained all day and was reathor coald in the morning Thacher and myself went over to see if thir was eny chance to go to the rigement but was none and we came back to the corell and spent the day. this evening it has cleared and is star light. I wroat a letter home to father last evening to send when we start for the rigement.

It rained some last night and is cloudy to day. warm but no rain I staid all night with James Downs. came back to camp a bout nine o clock. have bin runing a round all day. read some and cleaned my gun and got a place to stay with one of the boys expect to move in a fue days.

It has bin a vary pleasant day but rained some in the evening. the first thing in the morning the rebles commenced to shell us on the left flank and then moved over to the right. we had one man wouned. and they had three kiled and several wouned, and they got one prisner we got three.

It has bin a pleasant day but reathor coald. I was detailed and went out on picket. saw nothing till a bout four o clock and then we saw three rebles on hors back they was mounted infentry
but they soon left and did not fire on us nor we on them.

It has bin a vary pleasant day but reathor coald. we saw nothing more of the ennimy during the night in the morning we went out a mile but could see nothing came back and was releaved and in the after noon they had batallion drill my head pained me so I did not go out with them but am fealing some better now.

It has bin a vary fine day and warm for the time of year. I went to the doctor this morning
and he started me for the reaor but thir was no train goin north so I came back to the rigement and if nothing happens to me will go on picket in the morning. Last evening thir was a fire over in town burned halph a dozen buildings and they ar trying to find out who set it a fire it was don aganest orders and they offer five hundred dollars to find out who set it a goin.

It has bin a vary fine day and warm for the time of year. I went out on picket this morning but saw nothing dooring the day
but what was all right soald my haversack that I got in Jeffersonville I Ind. to Charles Dapper.

It has bin a pleasant day but loocks like rain this evening saw nothing last night while on guard and was releved this morning at eight o clock. We have got orders to be ready to move at sevin in the morning and have drawn our racions four days hard bread, three of meat, five of sugar and teen of coffee and salt.

I got some things in some of the houses to send home and fifty cents in silver I throughed a way my woling blanket this morning Josh got some things to send home

It was a clear day but vary coald for this countery we marched nine miles got into millageville the capatol of Georgia. I was on guard last night. I went over to town and got some blankets to sleep on.

We have been short for racions draw nothing but rise salt and beaf so a coupple of us and my self went out yesterday and killed a cow that we found in the woods. so last night we had one full meal of beaf and rise boiled in the soup the fist for the last five days. they say that we will get racions in too or three days

The first news this morning was that Savannah was taken and it proved to be true. we moved up to the town. I toock teen prisners up to divison head quarters.

This morning we moved in to the city that is brigade headquarters and built our shanty to live in.

It has been the same as usial to day. my pardnear bought a turkey and got it baked the same as they do at home, and got some warm brisket for supper. It was as good a supper as I have had for a good while.

It has been a bout the same to day as usial. we have had roast turkey three times to day and have killed too chickens and toock them over to have them roasted for toomorrow which is cristmas. one year a go to day I was at home. I went over to the rigement to day and got a letter from home. they ar well. was out around town some last evening. Thatcher went a long but we did not stay away from our quarters long got back by eight oclock. I was on guard too hours to day. this evening I was up in town and had a long talk with a young Ladie she has just got back from south
Carliona. had been thir going to school. she has a smart apearance and is well educated for this contery. I am goin over tomorrow to halve a long talk with her. she seays if I have got eny thing to coock cook bring it over and she will do it for me. It is now getting lait and I must go to bed. the boys raised quite an excitement they commenced to fire thir guns in onner of cristmas that will come tomorrow. they had thir horses all saddled and orders to be redy to move but some of them went over and found out how it was and when they got back it was all right. I was a way
at the time and knew nothing of it till they had got all quiet a gane. I was over talking with that young Ladie and if the Jonnies had come and found me thir especlia her beaux it is likely he would gave me my walking papers her Mother told me a bout her beaux runing a way and leaveing her at the mercia of the yankeys but she seams to like the change vary well dont complain a bout it eny and I am sure that I like it vary well and wish I could find such a place every whair we go.

It has been a vary pleasant day and warm. I went out in
the fournoon and helped to cut too loads of wood and stoped at the rigement. when we came a long back, got some dinner with Josh and then he came over to town with me, and we got some of our roast chicken. he let me have five dollars. In the evening we walked a round town some and then went to a collard meating. One yeaor a go to night I staid at Mr Cooley's and too years a go to night I was in Viragina at stafford coart house, and that day for diner we had some stuf that was sent from home to us by Capt Robisson and we had it coocked for a cristmas diner, and to day we had roast chicken.

It has been cloudy all day but no rain. I sent hoam some things this morning by Jessie Spooner but did not have time to write a letter. the things I got on the last march. I maid a ring and soald for one dolla to day to one of the guards.

It has been a vary pleasant day and vary warm. I was out a round the city to day, and the Ladies that was out on the streats had thir parrasauls a long to keep the sun of uv them. last night we got eight pigens and cooked them to day for diner the fourthenth corps had review this four noon.
