Dear Sister
                      I received your kind and welcome letter and I was glad to hear from you I am getting pretty good my foot is nearly healed up I think I shall be home before I go to the front again at least you can expect me at the latter end of next month tell me if you have written to my Uncle does he know that I am / wounded. I received those papers that you sent me I get very good care taken of me here and it is a very pleasant place we have a good many visitors come to see us from the city of Philadelphia tell Mother that she need not fret about me for the Doctor promised me a furlough as soon as I was able to go I have nothing to write about so I will have to close is any one drafted out of the place tell me what kind of a looking girl Aruelia Barber is write / and let me know as I intend to get married to her when I get home no more at present my love to you all
