Dear Sister
I set me down to write these fiew lines to you hoping they will find you in the enjoyment of as good health as I am in at present thank god for all his blessings towards us. Dear sister the reason why I did not write sooner was this I did not know but that I would remain in the hospital at philadelphia for some time to come I came off guard one morning and was ordered to pack up my traps so we got aboard of the cars and went to Camp Distribution Alexandria V.A. and was there two days when I got examined by the surgeon in charge there and / was sent back to washington again I left Philadelphia to soon to get my pay there I went down to washington 23d of this month to see if I could reas it but was told I could not on acount of me belonging to the Department of the West that is general Butlers Department I would like to know if my Cousin Mary sent aney letters to me if she has I wish to you send them to me. Give Petter Coaty the directions for me as I would like him to write me afiew lines as soon as he can I must conclude by sending you and Mother my love and best respects also all enquireing friends
