Dear Mother
                       I seat my self to answer your letter whitch i received to day and i was hapy to hear ove you all being well i got that letter of yours and Walters letter but i hant had time to answer them but you will have to excuse me we got orders to day to have eight days rashions with in our haversacks and knapsacks i think we will moove in a day or to for shure the cavelry has been fighting all day in our front i am expecting to be called out before night so if i dont get writting mutch / this time you will have to excuse me i think they is going to be a regular moove if it ant for a moove it is for a battle but i dont think the rebles will try to drive us from here this is my opinion they has been a battery sent out from here a bout a half an our a go to fight how they will make it is more than i can tell it is going to be hard work carying all our traps this hot weather you say all the nine months men is enrolled i dont see how they can take walt according to the act that was past by congress where they was three boys they would only two have to go so i dont think he will have to go tell him to go to town / and finish his trade this would be my advice but tell him not to inlist for fear of the draft for i dont think it will take him if it dose it wont be any disgrace for he has been out once as a volenteer i got a letter from Ann Mcintire from Alleghany Citty to day she said she was going to write you a letter the same day if she did you can tell her it may be i wont get a chance to answer it if we moove but i will as soon as i can get time well mother all the boys is in good health in our company if we moove you can expect to hear of some hard fighting of old roseys army some thinks we are going to vixburgh to reinforce Grant it may be so but i dont think it is we hant had any perticulars from Grant for a day or so but / we still live in hopes that he will take the place if he dont it will be a bad gob but i still think he will well mother i will close hoping to hear from you soon a gain this scribled letter leaves me well my love to all the family Abram Kipp
