Dear Mother
                       I seat my self this wet morning to answer your letter whitch i received in last evenings mail and i was hapy to hear ove you being well and i was sory to hear of alie having the mumps i stil continue to enjoy good health we are stil on the mountain yet we are made work prety hard here but i dont mind the work if we are only left here for i am tiard of marching but if we are ordered to march i gess the 78th can go if any other regt can you spoke of visiters being at our place and going to a singing and and coming back and having a good / i wouldent mind spending an evening of that cind in the same way if i was so luckey as to get a chance Anie used to be a fine loocking piece but it has been so long sense i saw a good loocking lady i supose i would be taking with the first one i would see i wonder that anie hasent maried some veteran soldier as i see that most of them is getting maried i dont blame the soldiers for it but i think the girls are very foolish for maring a man and him starting back to the army for three years but i supose it is all right for them i supose Hen Hawk is better now sense the draft is over you speak ove me coming home i think we will be sent in rout for our own state the first of September you want to know if we have preaching here we have / had preaching prety regular sense we came on the mountain but we hant had church for two or three sabaths now you speak ove sending one of the girls to school if you need them to help you at home i would advise you to keep them news is very scarce so i will have to close for this time hoping to hear from you soon a gain my love to all              Abram Kipp
