my self to write you a fiew lines i am well and hope that this letter will find you all well the weather here is quite cold to day but has been very pleasant for some time past i supose we will have a hard winter up here you [paper fold] my well was doing she is now pumping but no oil we call it a dry hole so far but we shant bother our selves mutch a bout it as we are used / used to sutch luck we have a nother well partly down we call it the Ocean well i suppose it will be one of the same sort but we are bound to try a gain and for when i will be at home i cant tell we are very busy all the time Jack is back and i got my clothes all right i am very thankfull to you for those socks you sent to me if i can get of near the holidays i will try to come down but it will be very unsirtin wheather i can or not i have been working very hard all fall and expect i will have to do the same all winter to keep up our bad wells tell Giny if i come home a newyears i will bring her a presant also Bily tell him to let me know what it will be
