Dear sister

As i have been writing a few lines to daniel i came to the conclusion that I would write a few lines to you i am a great deal better than i was when I wrote to you before i am so now that I go on duty and i think that I shall be tough as i ever was in a little while as for the other person that I wrote to you about he is on the gain now although it will be a long time before he will be able for duty I have been to see him quite a number of times since he has been sick but he did not seem to know me he is crazy the most of the time although he has been quite rational for the last day or two the sick ar all going to Madison to morrow or next day and I think he will go with them he will if they think he is able to stand the / trip there now. adeline I dont want you to tell any one that I ever wrote to you about his being in the hospital for if Cli or sheldin should find it out they would raise the old nick with me for it Well ad i think there is a very good show for the 28^th to go to Wisconsin before long our colonel told one of the boys the other day that we should all be in madison in the course of four or five weeks the surgeon says that the regt. had ought to go to wisconsin to recruit their health but i dont know as they will have such good luck as that Well adeline i wrote to you the 23^rd of this month and sent 8.00 dolloars home in the letter and if that comes throug safe i shall send some more the same way / without i am sure the regt. is going to madison and then i shall cary it my self well adeline I dont know as i can think of any thing more to write this time onely if we should happen to come up to Madison you must call up there and see a fellow pleas answer as soon as you get this and direct to helena as before from your brother
