Dear Mother
                        I will answer your letter which I received to day it had some tea in it. I received one from Augusta Newell also I have not much to write about this time George Hawk is here to day he has not gone in as a vetran yet he has not said whether he will or not but I guess he will. I think we will be apt to get to Chicago by the 25 of this month if nothing happens the box you sent to me is in Larkinsville that is about ten miles from here and I will have / it thare untill I start for home I am on picket guard to day will not write aney more this time from your son
