Dear Mother
                        I will write a fiew lines to you to let you know that the news has just come that we are to go to Savannah and I do not want you to send that box that I wrote for a fiew days ago because I might not get it you need not send it let it go I would not get it for it would not be my luck I am still at Head Quarters I will not write aney more this time I loaned Fred Smith ten dollars and he said his folks would pay it to you so you can take it and save it for me 
 
Thare is about two inches of snow on the ground now and it is pretty cold I remember one year ago to night I froze my ears this is the last letter that I shall write this year so good by no more
