Andrew T. Goodman to Roland Goodman, 19 February 1863
[margin: Added to 2/19/1863]
My dear Rollie,
I am very glad to hear that you are so well again, and hope you will not be sick and suffer so much as you have. Be a good boy and remember that when you are naughty it grieves your mama so much, and I always get to hear of it somehow. I saw two little "Secesh boys" yesterday, riding two little ragged ponies. They came through our camp and looked just like our little boys at the North, though I dare say they were "Rebs". Ask Uncle Hen if he cannot bring you down here for a few days, and write me all about what he says. Give my love to mama and Amy and Grandma and Aunt and cousins And remember me always as your Affectionate Papa
Capt. A. T. Goodman
