Lucius C. Crooker
Lucius C. Crooker was born on November 18, 1838, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, to Benjamin and Mary Crooker. His father was a machinist who owned $3,000 of real estate and $1,000 of personal property. He grew up and attended school in Bridgewater, and by 1860, he was working as a clerk. He enlisted in the Union army on August 11, 1837, and he mustered in as a sergeant in Company F of the 39th Massachusetts Infantry on August 27.
 
On December 22, 1863, he was promoted to 1st lieutenant of the 77th USCT Infantry. He was promoted to captain on March 13, 1865, and he was transferred to the 10th USCT Heavy Artillery on October 1, 1865. He mustered out on February 22, 1867.
 
He married a woman named Louisa, and their son Lucius was born in Panama around 1873. By 1880, he was working as a clerk in Washington, D.C. He died sometime in the 1880s.
