Dear Dot.
In my last, written on Sunday, I mentioned sending a box with my jacket, more in jest than earnest. I now write in haste fearing you will send it, and would like you to send the said "bugbear" and also my flannel underclothing as the nights are cool and frosty, and thin flannel does not pay. If your Uncle Henry wishes to do us poor fellows a fellow favor, please ask him to buy us 20 yards of red flannel (good color) of good enough quality to line our Government overcoats. He knows what we will require. I would like also 1 Doz heel ball which he can get at a shoemaker's finding establishment. Also 2 tin pepper boxes medium size. You can fill the box with any other articles that you fancy we would like. O! I tell you, please send us some of those packages of herbs for soup done up by the Shakers. They will come very handy. And if not too much trouble, I would be much pleased if he would ask at a stationers / for a "Company Morning Report Book" I dont know if he can buy such a thing but I would like to have it. Frank says he would like to have his discharge if such a thing can be had. You need not be so particular about the last article. We are doing nicely. All well. We have two sailors in our new men who have just finished the best tent for me in the line. It is the admiration of all. Give love to all. Respects to friends Kiss little ones over and over for me and believe me to be as ever
Yours devotedly
Andy
P.S. Send bills of flannel and pepper boxes and Company book—
Also please send us some good patent black thread.
