i do not think that we will move soon for there is not [faded] of our men beyond us that we cannot go much further Black regiments is not very far from us but i cannot get a pass there now [faded] fourteen thousand men marched the same day We / marched. We left Smith Sanderson in the hospital at Newport news he was not well Ephraim Hankey is dead there is three of our Company dead since we left Washington i am enjoying better health now than i did at Washington thank god for it i cannot complain We are sun burnt you would not know me / John is in good health i do not know what i would do if it were not for John i would be without company We have only two nights apart since we left Camp Orr Well i must bring my scribling to a close and i must make supper Write soon for your letters are as welcome as my meals
