Elizabeth Mack
Elizabeth Mack (maiden name unknown) was born around 1824 in New York. She married Ransom Mack, and they had at least two children: Emma, born around 1843; and Francis, born around 1849. They lived in West Van Buren, Indiana, and her husband worked as a farmer. They moved to Jackson, Indiana, in the 1850s, and by 1860, they owned $300 of personal property. Her husband served in the Union army from 1862 until 1865. By 1870, they were living in Elkhart, Indiana. Her husband died on June 13, 1893. She applied for a widow’s pension in April 1894 and eventually secured one. She died sometime after 1894.
