my Dear Brother was very glad to hear from you and the rest of the folks The weather has benn prety mudy here and it has rained for about a week nearly all the time and I think if it keeps on thawing that wee will soon start for Cario there has benn no Guard detailed for about a week I have not benn on Guard only once since I have benn in camp and then the weather / very warm it's the mudiest place that I ever saw when it is rainy Creon I wish that you would write to me at lest once a week for I dont believe that they all come here that you write to me I write three or four letters a week and I dont get more than one a week ago to day the river was nearly freezen over but it is now nearly clear of ice wee have lost 32 men out of our Regament since wee have benn in this camp it is very unealthy here in camp wee have not lost only lost to men in our Company tell Pa that i wish he would write to me and tell me how he is / along with the farm
