My Dear Mother
I suppose it has been a great while since since you have heard from me I suppose you have heard of the Battle of Shilo where wee was taken prisners wee was taken just half past 5 in the eavening went wee were sent immediatly to Memphis and there I sent wrote a few lines to you and now I am a going to write a few more I have benn well most of the time since wee were While wee were prisners wee are now a wating Orders from General Halleck Mother I think of you very often how good and kind you was to me and of the many hapy hours I have spent at home with the society of Brothers and sisters tell Creon take good care of his Sein for i expect one day to help him cach fish in it tell Adie that I should like very much to see her and Mary tell Luela when I come home I am a going to bring her a present tell Nott to take good care of the chickens and turkies for I shal want soem when I get home tell pa to take good care of himself his health and not wort to hard and I will bring him soem money that will help him a little
