Dear Cousin
I now seat myself to let you know that all is well hoping this will find you all the same I have some bad knews to write to you a bout our stock the Indians come monday week after you left and stold eight head of my horses and four of Loupies the rone mare and colt and Jos and the heavy dun and old febe and heir too colts I have not found yet I think that they are gone to but I dont know they got all of them that I had in the pen when you was here they got that wild bey mare of mine that I had tied in the pen when you was here and 7 more from me the next time I reckon they will get the rest they left a grey horse here branded SIX on the left shoulder and [symbol] on the wright thigh tell Mr Adams to look out for our stock up there I lost a little brown pony roach main swab tail branded W2 on the left shoulder & a Spanish brand counterbranded [symbol] I will put down some of the brands that was stold OAL. AOL. D. C. HF. 12C. PH. [symbol] OLVH W2 tell Mr Adams to look out for them brands there is 52 head stold on this creek well I will bring this to a close write soon I remain your Cousin until death
