Tuesday, Aug 22 1865
Clear and pleasant. Got my transfer papers to De Camp Hospital David's Island for the purpous of getting an artifitial arm. Rain very hard this evening.
Wednesday 23rd
Clear and cool. got my transportation signed this morning, and went to Cheshire afoot. Went up to E. Brookses and [ink blot] Bishop this P.M.
Drawed $60.43 from Town Treasury that I had deposited there
Thursday 24th
Clear and cool. got my apples and carried them to mill this AM. Went to New Haven on the 4 oclock train took the 11 oclock boat for New York
Friday 25
Clear and very pleasant arrived at New York at 5 oclock this morning / morning. Went to the Battery and got my breakfast. Took the boat at 11 oclock for David's Island arrived here at 12 P.M. went to eve meting
Saturday 26th
Clear and pleasant. Wrote to Mary. In my old Pavilion No 6. No one here that was here when I left. Very poor rations
Sunday 27th
Clear and pleasant. Wrote to Uncle William. Went to Church in morning and to evening meting
Monday 28th
Clear and pleasant. Went to Head quarters to see about getting an order for my arm. did'nt make out any thing.
Tuesday 25th
Clear and pleasant Went to Head quarters got my papers started. Not much going on. /

Thursday 31st
Clear and quite warm. Mustered for pay, one years wages due me. Was sworn for an arm this afternoon
Friday September 1st 1865
Clear and very warm. Went to evening meting. Cloudy this eve
Saturday 2nd
Cloudy and very warm. Rain through the night and this evening.
Sunday Sept 3rd
Cloudy and warm but not much rain. Went to Church in morning and evening. took charge of the mail
Monday 4th
Clear and warm. very foggy this morning.
Tuesday 5th of Sept 1865
Clear and warm got a pass and an order for my arm and went to the city this afternoon on the Sylvan Grove Steamer arrived there at 4½ o clock P.M.
Wednesday 6.
Clear and quite warm. Stopped at the Battery last night. Went up to the National leg and arm Company and got my arm mesured and fitted. Come up to David's Island to night on the Mary Burns Steamer heavy shower this P.M.
Thursday 7th
Clear and very warm. a good many transferred to their own states
Wrote to Mary this afternoon
Friday 8th
Cloudy and cooler. Rain more or less through the day. Wrote three letters. Went to church this evening. Martin McLaughlin came here from New Haven to night
