New York Navy Yard.
Dear George,
I am a long time writing you a letter, but have been busy on board and looking out after Alice on shore. I was glad to hear from you a little while ago. I hope you are getting along at school all right. If you have any trouble with your sums Alice and Frank will have to help you. I had to help them when they were your age & going to school.
I have got a new flannel jacket made for you, I hope it will fit you. it looks nice, & the tailor made it as near as possible to Mama's directions. Alice will bring it home in her trunk.
I may come home with her. we will not move before the end of the month. I shall come by the 9am train if possible, may not be able to remain the week but shall try it. Have several things to do between & end / of week. hope to get through.
I hope the weather will be good. Was up at Aunt Ellens tonight she goes to Phila about end of week.
Tis pretty late, so will say good night
Much love for all from Papa
