Sir.
            Assistant Paymaster H. R. Sullivan U.S.N. having been condemned and sent to the Hospital at Mare Island for treatment, you will, in addition to your present duties of Chief Engineer in the Navy, take charge of the Paymasters Department of this ship. You will be responsible for the expenditure of stores, the issuing of clothing and the disbursement of money, except upon lawful orders, until the return of Asst Paymaster Sullivan; or the reporting of his relief, duly ordered by the Hon Secretary of the Navy.
