Nancy Mason (maiden name: Pullen) was born around 1821 to Abraham Pullen and Liddy Freeman. Her father was a farmer who owned $200 of real estate in 1850. The family was living in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1830, but they eventually moved to Tallapoosa, Alabama. Nancy married Benjamin Mason there on March 1, 1849. They had at least six children: Rhona, born around 1850; Mary, born around 1852; Charles, born around 1857; and William, born around 1858; Sarah, born around 1861; and Benjamin, born around 1866. Her husband worked as a farmer, and by 1860, they owned $800 of real estate and $265 of personal property.
They moved to Tallassee, Alabama, sometime in the 1860s. By 1870, they owned $1,200 of real estate and $800 of personal property. By 1910, they were living in their son Benjamin’s household in Howard, Alabama. She died in Elmore County, Alabama, on June 18, 1912.
