This Deed made this Eighteenth day of April eighteen hundred and fifty three

                                                                                                                       

Witnesseth

That Robert G. Nelson of the county of Grafton and state of New Hampshire in consideration of twelve hundred dollars to him paid by Joseph Talley of Macoupin county and state of Illinois the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do by these presents remise, release and forever quitclaim to the said Joseph Talley, his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract of land situate, lying and being in the county of Macoupin and state of Illinois, and known as the East half of the north west quarter of section thirteen excepting two acres out of the south east corner also the south west quarter of the north west quarter of section thirteen all in township number eight north of Range nine west of the third principal Meridian in the state of Illinois

            To have and to hold the aforedescribed premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Joseph Talley, his heirs and assigns forever; the said Robert G. Nelson hereby covenanting that he will warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid premises to the said Joseph Talley his heirs and assigns forever against all persons claiming under or through him; reserving a full and complet vendors lien upon the aforesaid premises to secure the purchase money
