Savan'h Ga. Dec 11th 65
As I have nothing to do now I will write you a few lines I wrote you the 9th I think It is rather soon to write again I know but I hope this will be a welcomed letter I got a paper from you last night (the Farmington Chronicle) saw your marriage in it was the only way I have heard of it, but expected to hear of it every day. I hear by way of Hen Whittier that you have swopped farms. you wrote that you talked of it. I think you have made a good trade as you cannot carry on so large a farm /
Fred Whittier is here now he wants to send for a box he wants me to have one with him. I dont care much about it but he said he was going to have one so as long as we are here togather I dont know but what I had better. I need some stockings and a shirt.
I dont like to trouble you with it any how at all.
I thought it would not be a great deal of trouble for you to send with his folks. I am not particular any way about it.
I suppose we shall stop our time out now without any doubt and I think we shall stop here too. If you send a box you may put in two pairs of stockings one shirt and a pair of woolen gloves. dont think of any thing else now in the clothing line / I dont know as you had better send any eatables.
Fred is going to send for some butter but I dont know as you could send it very well. If you think you could send butter you might send 2 or 3 lbs I cannot think of any thing else perhaps you can think of some little things.
I dont like to trouble you with it. I think I ought to get along one year without sending home for things. The stockings we get here are good for nothing and it is getting cold enough to need warm ones now.
Fred wants it sent in my name. You may direct it to
