Father
I have rec'd my state bounty of $1.00 which I got expressed to you yesterday. I do not expect to get my town bounty until I get to Gallops Island Boston. That you had better change for Government bonds or do what you think best with it. I will express it to you when I get it We have been ready to leave here two or three times but some thing has happened / that we did not go Yesterday we had slung our napsacks and formed on ready to start but it was not good weather and the word came that the boat was not going out and so we had orders to break ranks.

We some expect to go to night in the cars but I dont think we shall it rains very hard I hope we shall get away from here soon it is very much crowded. there is about 200 in this ward and only room enough for 100. I have got a quite a bad cold now and I dont think it will ever be any better while I am here I might have got a letter from home if I had known that I was not going to / off any sooner. I received my $33 govt bounty a few days ago that I shall keep with me If you should write to me after I had gone the letters would be forwarded but I dont know as you had better write until you hear from me again
