Augusta June 8th 1865
Dear Uncle
A few lines to let you know we are as well as usual & we would like to know if you have heard from Ferd within a few days thay have left Savanah & gorn to Augusta Ga & some have or was left in the Hospital as thay went along we here nothing from Ephraim
we expect he is in the Hospital somewhere on the road the 16th maine came in to nite tel Alanson his Regt will go to Bangor to be musterd out so Col Littler said their is nothing new here
O Lavina has got Ephraim's town note & Mother said she should like to have it cashed as Ephraim wanted it all in Treasr notes I have got mooved after along time I was mooved when Alanson but the other man has not garn out yet my garden looks well I planted most 1½ bu of potatoes I have me a pig & I would buy a cow if thay was not high I think thay will be down some this fall I will have to close for their is a boy wating to take this to the office I don't know as you can find this out for I have wrote this quick please excuse all imperfections so good by
