I cant help but think of you all since I left you and for your kindness to me I will forever remember you all. It was not because I knowed that I was a soilder now that made me look so sad when I bid you farewell, but it the thoughts of parting with those that were so kind to me was what made me so loath to leave you all but though distance seperates us I often think of you all and let come what will you will all ever be rememberd by me I sent a small present home to day for Lydia Emma it was a pair of ear drops and a picture of mine for you Mary / but my picture is not very true but it was the best one that I gave you out foure that I had taken I have wrote what on this in a very short time and will have to close for the present please remember me to Thomas and all the family I am a going to write to Anna and what I miss in this I will write in hers I now close with my love to you all no more at present but remain your affectionate
