Waldo C. Daniels
Waldo C. Daniels was born around 1832 in New York. He probably grew up and attended school in Syracuse, New York, before enrolling at the University of Michigan. He graduated in 1853 and settled in Toledo, Ohio. He married Charlotte F. Haskell in Lucas County, Ohio, on January 26, 1859. Daniels worked as a doctor, and by 1860, the family owned $15,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property. He enlisted in the Union army on April 25, 1861, and mustered in as an assistant surgeon in the 14th Ohio Infantry on May 4. The regiment spent the next few months in western Virginia before mustering out on August 13, 1861. He then mustered in as an assistant surgeon in the 4th United States Infantry on September 9, 1863. He was promoted to surgeon on June 30, 1864, and he mustered out on August 5, 1865. Daniels returned to Toledo after the war and resumed his work as a doctor. He died on February 26, 1882.
