Mi Dear Brother I must in form you that i am well at presant and i hope that these few lines will find you all in the same state of health i must in form you where we are know we are in Camp Curtin harrisburgh we left Camp Cartwright on last tusday and came to pittsburgh and there we chaned cars and came to camp Curtin harrisburgh and we had a good time we started at 8 o clock and we arived at harrisburgh at half past to o clock that night and we went up to the camp and we all laid our blankets down on the ground and / we all slep well for we was all tierd harrisburgh is a nice place but it is a durty camp it is not half as nice as camp wright nor half as good grub but then we get a long puty well eny how there aint meny soldiers here know but there is a good menny soldiers in town waten for there pay they are three month boys and they cant get it as soon as they want it and last satterday they wanted it and cold not get it and i was on gard at the arsinal and that is right handy to the captial and they wanted to get in and get the arms for pay but they did not get in that day I stod gard from 12 o clock a satterday till eight o clock a sunday and i thought that was bad comenet but then i gess / they will pay them of for i hope that they will for they look as if they need it the courntry around harrisburgh is very nice but the camp is very durty one it is not half as nice as camp wright and the grub is not so good but then we get a long the best way we kin we are in cambles artilery ridgement and we dont know when we will leave here abe and i has been talkin a bout going to his ouncles he lives a bout three or four miles from town but we dont know when we whe will get there but then i think we cold halve a good time if we get there i think we cold squeze the gals if we get there if there is eny there wich i hope there will bee some there 
 
I hant got much more to say but we are aken for a fight but then i think we will get it soon anuf but when we get at them i think we will give them the devil at lest i hope so and then i think we will get home sooner i hant got nothinge more at presant but tell all the folks that i am and good spierts tell henry rhodes that i would like he would rite to me and tell me all about times back there you must excuse mi bad writing and as soon as you get this letter i want you and lizzy to write to me and not forget tell mat and Jef that i nevver got aletter from them yet and i would lik to get one from them 
 
            direct your letter to Camp Curtin harrisburgh in care of Capt Danforth and dont forget to wright as soon as you get this So i have nothing more so i bid you good by but remain your brother George
