Dear Sister
It is with pleasure that I seat my self this morning to answer your kind letter wich I recieved yesterday evning and was very glad to here from you and all the rest and to heare of you all being well I am well at presant and hope these few lines will find you the same I had comenst to think that you had for gotton that I was a way from eny more for it has been a good while since I recieved a letter from home or eny place else / but I cant blame you much for I expect you was all scard so bad that you cold not wright I think it would a been fun for us boys if we had a been there I think we would a got some soft bred and butter and some more good things to eat good things are very scarce down here but then we can eat most eny thing Jeff and mat may be glad that they did not haft to come and if they had a come they would a seen some of the hardest times that they ever seen they would not halve good things to eat all the time some times they would halve crackers and cofee and some times nothing / A bout that time they would say I am the draft
Well liz I must tell you that we halve it had some hard times since I got back to the company and some very hard fightting to do and we done it well we done it the best we node how and that was prety good I got through it all san safe and sound and am well and hearty and I am very glad of it we halve bill bin heare at this camp a bout two weeks there was plenty of rebs here when we came here but there is more here to the presant but I dont think they are very far a way / but I would be very well satified if we would not see eny this summer I cant tell how long we will stay here but I dont think we will stay here long you want to no wether I heard from oil city I must tell you that I hant herd from there since they moved up there when you write to me I want you to give me the directions up there I want you to write just as soon as you get this letter and tell me all the news nothing more at presant I send my well wishes to you all good by for this time write soon from
