Dear Brother
it is with pleasure that I seat my self this afternoon to answer your letter wich I received some time ago and was very glad to heare from you all and to heare of you being well and all the rest of the family
 
            Well Jack I hardly no what to write for there has nothing new going on heare since I last wrote to you ony that it has been raning heare ever since last night and is still raning yet and no hopes of it quiting soon and I hope it wont quit this week for if it ranes prety hard / for a bout two weeks I dont think we will haft to move but if it dont rane to break up the roads I think we will haft to move soon but I dont no where we will go but I expect it will be forward on to richmond and I think we will halve a prety hard time of it if we try it this fall but I hope we wont try it this fall I want them to wait on till they muster us out of the service and then we will march home ward once more and I think it would be a gay time buly for the gay times
 
            Well Jack a litle a bout them boots when you write a gain tell me wether them boots is made or not and what kind they are abe Rhodes is getting a pair made / and I wrote to hen and told him how to send them and when you get mine give them to him to send with abes if the woman aint very busy I would like if they would get some stuff and make me two shirts they can get the kind of stuff that will suit them and it will suit me but I gess they may make one wolen and one check and that will do me but not to send them with out some boddy is coming to the Company ontill we send for them for it aint very safe to send them by exprss at the presant time if he hant got the boots made yet tell him to make me a good pair not to heavy but put double sole on them and long legs and wide inside legs /
