Dear Sister
I take my seat to answer your kind letter wich I recieved some time a go and would halve answerd it sooner but was waiting for somthing new to write but I cant say that there is eny thing new a going on heare at presant only that we halve got marching orders that is to be ready to march at a moments notice but that aint nothing new for us we often get marching orders and we often march to but I hope we wont haft to march this time for I hate to break camp this time of the year for it generaly gets very muddy in these parts in the spring of the year and if we haft to move know I expect it will be a nother stick in the mud /
well I expect the old round heads will soon think of starting back to camp a gain but I will bet they wont feel so gay a going back as they did when they came home I expect the folks a round new castle thinks that there is no soldiers out but the round heads but they need not think that for we are in the service yet and just as good as eny boddy but there is one thing shure five months and five days more will put us out of it for a while and I am glad of it Some of our vetterns came back last night but there is some of them to come yet we expect them to night them that is back say that they had a gay old time and I will bet they had James Covert aint back yet I expect he cold not leave / his woman so soon after getting marred I no I should not but I think he had a been better a doing some thing thing else a bout that time I dont think he needs a woman eny worse than I do and I no darnd well I dont need one at presant but let every boddy do as he pleases and I will do the same that is when I can I will
well I gess I halve told you all give my love to all the gals a round there and every boddy else the health in the company is good at presant write soon and tell me all the news nothing more at presant but remain your brother
