Dear Father and Family I received a letter from you a few days since and I never was as glad to get a letter in my life for it had been three long months since I had heard from you. It will be of no use for me to try to write you a long letter as Mr Allen is going to start home in a few day and he can tell more than I can write. I will send you eighty dollar seven dollars of the money sparril paid on the note for his horse and Seventy two dollars and forty cents which is the whole amount of Tillman's note and $60.60 of my own money makeing in all $220.00 I have been sick for a long time but I am now in tolerable good health and I am in hopes I will not be sick any more this summer. If we cross back on the west side of the Mississippi River between this and next winter I want Columbus to come and take my place and let me come home and stay a while. I have not received a letter from Columbus for a long time I want him to write to me often for it does me more good to get a letter from home than any thing else. I want you to write all about my stock how they are getting along, and about the crops. I am going to send a power of attorney to you so that you
