Isaac M. Yoakum to Adam S. Yoakum, 28 June 1862
Camp Miss June 28th 62

Dear Father—as Lieut Sadler is going to start home in a few days I will drop you a few lines I wrote to you when Mr. Allen started but I know you would be disappointed if you did not get a letter by every one that passes I know of nothing more than I wrote by Mr Allen only that we are making rapid prepations to leave here but I do not know where we are going. It is a general supposition that we are going to Chatanuga in East Tennisee It is my opinion that it is a secret movement. I want you to write to me often. Direct your letterst to Mobeal Ala. 1st Briggade. 2nd division Armey of the West West (11th Texas Cavaldry Co F) or Col Burks Reg. Co F and they will be sure to come it does not make any difference where we are. You must not wait to hear where we are but write / as often as you can I want you to write to me for I have never got but one or two letters from you since I left home I want you to write to me all about how times are in Texas and how people are getting along in general I want to know what the Consccript law has done for Texas

As for my part I am willing to stay to get others to come who I know would not come under any other circumstances. We have the warmest wether that I ever saw. I want to know if you have ever heard any thing of our horses I have not heard from them since they left Little Rock

Write soon as you get this
I M Yoakum
