Dear Mother
                        I drop you a few lines by A. J. Nicholson to inform you that I am well. Nicholson is going to start home on the twelve Oclock train tomorrow. We are now camped on the railroad and expect to start at daylight in the morning. I do not know where we are going I will write to you as soon as we stop and let you know where to write to. I wrote to you by Mr Delk and told you what kind of clothes to send me but you may not get the letter so I will tell you what kind to send me I want two pair of janes pants 1 pair not lined and the other pair lined if you / can get the goods to line them with. two pair of socks, one lincy over shirt & one over shirt made of woosted goods if you have it. You can make it out of one of your old woosted dresses. I do not want you to send me any cotten shirts unless they are nice colered shirts for I can get cotten clothes as cheap as they can be bought in Tex I have got coats enough to do me til spring if I do not loose them. I have as many drawers as I want. If you can get me a good pair of soft leather boots No 7 without paying too much for them I would like for you to send them to me I do not want any but homade If they ar hard like the ones Mr Gilcris made me they will / rouin my feet. If you have any thing you could make a coarse handkerchief out of I would like to have it. I want you to put my name on every thing you send me I would like for you to make me a kneedl book so that I can carry my knedles and thred in my pocket also a littl case in it to carry a fine comb. send a little bunch of cotten thred in it. Send me some real pepper, you can put it among the clothes so that it will not take up mutch room. I would like for you to have me a pair of suspenders wove and send also If you have any thing else that you wish to send it will be thankfully received I would not send for so things but I know when I get anything from home / it will last to do some good and I also know that you will take a pride in doing any thing for me It is getting late and I have nothing only a fier light to write by so you cannot expect a long letter.
