Dear Sister
I once more seat my self to pen you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope that these few lines will find you and all the rest well how is Father helth now and Mey I suppose is well and Hubb to. well Laura I cant think of any thing to write because I have not had a letter from any one sense for six weeks I have got some letters in the wagon train but I cant / get them that what the matter. well I guess I have wrote enough of that. well Laura I wrote a letter to Jole yesterday and one to Joseph and I wrote one to Maggie but dont you tell any one. well I am right on my write just now. Well Laura have you heard from Charles yet, or is he killed I have not heard from him sense I left Stevansburg. write and tell me about him, and write all the news, for there aint no news to write here only fiteing there their is a enough of that I tell you well Laura I must write a letter to father so I will close. Write soon Love to you and all the rest and a (kiss) to Laura.
Dear Father
I thought I must write you a few lines to let you know that I had not forgoten you. well father what do you think of the war. Well I will tell you what we think it will close this summer that what the matter. Well father I guess I shant be their to help you in haying this summer but I will try and be their next summer to help you. Well father I dont think of any more to write this time.
