Dear Sister
            it is with grate pleasure that I now seat my self to answer your letter that I got last night, and I was a glad boy to get it I tell you. it found me well, and I hope that these few lines will find you and all the rest well. I have not herd from home before, for a long time and I was glad to get it I tell you well Laura I will tell you about the boys they are all well except John Sterling he has been / sick about four weeks with the fever. he is with me now and I am taking care of him now he is geting better now well Laura whare was I, one year ago to day. I can tell you, I was in Canada to Mr Jones is rolling ten pins in the forenoon, and was taken sick in the afternoon with the Diptheria that what the matter. Well Laura I am going to write to Ida to day. Laura I want you should write and me tell me what kind of a time they had to the forth. you will know what I am doing to day the forth I am writing to you that what the matter / O Laura you tell Em Barber that I cant think of any thing to call that boy of without you she calls him (Enough) of well I gess Em will be mad now. tell her that she will get over it before I get home so I shall be all right. Well I cant think of any more to write only my Co is all gone, they are taken prisoners and killed all most all of them and it makes our harts look down I tell you.
