Dear Sister Laura
 
            I had a letter from you the other night and it found me well and I was very glad to here that my folks was well and I got a letter from Hubb last night and I had one from Ida the other night. Oh Laura you said that father had sold his farm. Well I suppose that he was not able to careon the farm but I ment to have the farm some / but I guess I shant have it now but I am very sorry that he has sold the old farm for that was my home when I was in old Vermont but I suppose that I can find a home some whare in the world. but their is one thing in old Vermont that I will have when I come home that is the little mair. she shall stay with me if I live to get their thats whats the matter.
 
Well I wrote to Jole for a box some time ago and have not herd from him sense I wrote but I am in hopes that I shall get a letter to night. you said that Marion Palmer was ded well / I am very sorry to here so but we have all got to go sooner or later so we must make the best of it for it ma be me the next or you. but we live in hopes to meat a gain some time and I think we shall before my two years are up. Well I should like to see that little Nora but what is the use in wishen for I cant see her but you ma kiss her for me and here is one for you kiss. Well Laura I am going to send some old letters home and I dont want you should open any of them I shall send them in my name so you will know when they come and I want you should / lay them up for me and dont let no one see them till I get home put them in to my trunk and keep them safe. I shall send them right off

Well I guess I shall send two letters in my name, so I must say good by for this time
