Sunday Morning
            Last night between ten and eleven Gen Fosters boat the John Fannin came alongside and took off 12 Marines and 30 of our Company they intended to take all Marines but found they had no carbines so they took soldiers they took two days rations Capt Greely went with them. they have probably gone on a reconnaissance toward Charleston. I would like to have gone with them, but they only wanted one officer. so I have to stay back.
