The 11th was assigned to 9th Army Corps. He was engaged in the Battle of Fredericksburg Va Dec 13 1862, was wounded here [three words stricken]

Battle of the Wilderness where 200.000 men were engaged, taken prisoner there on the 6th of May, 1864, released on parole Dec 13 1864, confined 7 months and 7 days, was about 4 months in Andersonville 3 months at Florence SC. Had both legs broken by collision while on way home, was discharged for disability. Marched several hundred miles in Kentucky Tennessee Missipi Mississippi and Va.
