We were paid I believe up to the 1st Nov but am not sure as hardly two of us paid alike I received a letter from Frank Guilford yesterday I think it will be a couple of weeks before I leave here. The letter I wrote saturday I sent with out a stamp as the post master said it would go. I wrote (Soldier's Letter) on the end let me know if you get it I think I shall put one on this as I have one so to be sure It is now raining we have / been having pleasant weather. I guess I shall write to Grandfather to morrow
Wednesday morning
It is two weeks ago to day that I came here and I think it will be two more at least before I leave about my boots. I think I wore No 8 my foot is 10½ inches long in my stockings. I think you had better send the box as soon as you can conveniently. I weighed myself monday at the Patent Office I weighed 127½ lbs I do not think of much more to write give my love to Mother Father and all the rest tell Uncle Charles that he must write from your affectionate brother William
