                                    By virtue of Special authority confided to me by the War Department, You are hereby appointed Drillmaster with the rank of Second Lieutenant, Subject to the confirmation of the War Department, and will report for duty to the Commandant of Conscripts here.
 
            Your acceptance will be forwarded to me at the Bureau of Conscription with the consent of Lt. Gen. Polk to your detachment from his Corps, without which consent the final confirmation of your appointment will not be recommended

                                    I. The transportation of this Army is established upon the following basis, viz:

            one for the baggage of the men; the other two exclusively for forage.
                                    II. There will be a Brigade Ordnance Train of 1 four horse wagon for every 375 men present for duty, and a Reserve train for each Division, of 1 four horse wagon for every 375 men present for duty.
                                    III. Each Battalion of Artillery will have an Ordnance Train of Ten (10) wagons.
                                    IV. From the Surplus transportation there will also be organized a Reserve Ordnance train for each Corps as large as the available transportation will furnish permit.
                                    V. A Supply train to carry provisions for ten days will be organized as early as possible for each Corps.
                                    VI. The transportation in either wing of the Army above this allowance, will be send to Hd. Qrs. and placed at the disposal of the Chief Quarter Master, Maj. McMicken.
                                    VII. This reduction is necessary to secure the fruits of our recent victory. These can only be secured by rapidity of movement, the Army must be freed from every unnecessary incumbrance.
