The oppertunity this wet day to drop you a few lines Yours of the 12 it came to hand on yesterday and I was very glad to hear from you and that you was in good health I was on guard last night and got know sleep and I feel as stupid as an old ox and as I have not got much to say therefore I will not detain you long in reading it you must excuse this bad writing for we have not got a table to set besides and rite but we must set flat on the ground and take a board on our knees and do the best we can
Your old friend Wm J Dunlap is in our Company and he sends his best spektakel specktkels to you and the rest of the / of the young ladies in walnut bend he says that he glories in your spunk not to take a home guard Coward but he says that it would be agood idea for to make some of them a set of hoop skirts and give to them for thare good patriotism towards there country that our forefathers died for
You was saying in your letter that Simon wingiard was in shippenville and that he was going to get married to one of the Stovers I always thought that he was one Dam Coward and I belive that it comes true
Dear Sarah sens I rote you that letter we had a small spat with the Dam Seaceash and give them good floging and they run like hound pups but the day is not far off when they will think that they are / thunder struck in there [paper holes]
You said that george was sick now I want you to let me know where he is and give me his address so that I can write to him the camp is still very mudy but in good health in our Company there is onely 3 in the hospital and of them is going blind his name is John Lawhead from Clarion Co and the other one got too off him his fore fingers on his right hand and the other is sick with the fever there are all from Clarion Co
There was another regt came in our brigade yesterday it was the Penna 57 vols
I belive that for to night I will close my letter and scribeling /
